SINGAPORE – RSA, the security division of EMC, announced its partnership with Cisco to embed data classification technology and policies from the RSA Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Suite into Cisco’s IronPort email security solutions to prevent the loss of data in motion over email. The combined solution, to be offered as RSA Email DLP for Cisco IronPort, provides accurate and easy-to-use content classification designed to discover and protect sensitive data.

The integrated RSA Email DLP solution includes a wide selection of pre-defined out-of-the-box policies maintained and updated by RSA’s Information Policy and Classification Research team. The addition of RSA’s DLP technology to Cisco IronPort’s anti-spam, antivirus and encryption solutions provides customers with a comprehensive solution for inbound and outbound email control and security.

Customers may extend the RSA Email DLP capabilities for data-in-motion over email to data-at-rest, data-in-use and data-in-motion over web through the RSA Data Loss Prevention Suite, enabling data loss prevention with unified management and a common information classification and policy framework across the enterprise. This also allows customers to benefit from the comprehensive incident workflow and distributed architecture of the RSA DLP suite and achieve simplified management and lower total cost of ownership, while having comprehensive protection for data wherever it resides.
