Hong Kong's MTR Corporation has selected H3C's service-oriented network solution to handle new digital media services. The foundation of the service-oriented network is built by H3C's 10GE IP core network utilizing the IEEE 802.17 Resilient Packet Ring (RPR) topology to link 11 stations along MTR urban lines running through Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.
Together with H3C's integrated network security solution SecBlade II, the MTR is now able to deliver advertising or rail service information via the usage of dynamic digital media to customers with a high-performance, reliable and secure network platform.
The H3C-powered service-oriented network solution enables MTR Corporation to deliver compelling applications for real-time and on-demand communications with simple digital media creation, management, and publishing in various formats to multiple devices with built-in protection against potential security threats such as unauthorized intrusions and application layer attacks.
Today, the MTR is able to offer advertisers the ability to potentially reach millions of daily passengers with compelling, innovative digital media, thus increasing possible ad revenues.
